How do I prevent grades from automatically passing back to the LMS?

By default, CourseArc sends scores to your LMS gradebook automatically as learners earn them. For cumulative and participation courses, you can instead limit grade passback to manual synchronization, so scores only sync when an instructor or student triggers it. Manual grade passback is configured per course in the Tracking and Grading settings.

Only a System Administrator, Course Administrator, or Course Leader can edit course grading settings.

1. Open the course's grading settings. Navigate to the course, go to the Manage Course dropdown menu, then select Edit Course.
   
   
2. Scroll to the Tracking and Grading section.
   
   
3. In the Tracking and Grading section, select Participation or Cumulative. Next, change Score Syncing from Automatic to Manually triggered by student or instructor. If you chose Cumulative, enter a value in the Point value per page field.
   Cumulative tracking assigns a point value per page.

4. Select Submit to save the changes to the course settings.
