The Flashcards block provides direct instruction and can be graded (available points are awarded if all flashcards are viewed).

- From the edit page view, click Add To Content then click Add Block.
- From the Add Block modal, select Flashcards.
The Add Flashcards form will appear.
Configure the Flashcard Settings. As a default, Point Value: is set to 5. Configure the Point Value: field as needed.
Note: The Point Value: field will only be displayed if the module is being graded.
Select the flashcard Display Type:—Flashcards displayed all at once or Flashcards displayed one at a time in a slideshow format.
Note: When set to Flashcards displayed all at once, a flashcard is flipped independently by selecting an individual flashcard.- In Manage Flashcards, configure the Front: and Back: fields, and click the Save Flashcard button.
Note: There are character limits for each of the flashcard display types.Display Type Flashcard Front Character Limit Flashcard Back Character Limit Displayed all at once 40 450 Displayed one at a time 150 450 - Configure and save additional flashcards as needed.
- When all required flashcards have been added, click the Add+ button to add the Flashcards block to the course page.
- The new Flashcards block will now appear on the page in the edit page view. Select the Publish My Edits button to save the block.
- Once the changes are published and the edit page view is exited, the content is shown as it will display to learners.

Flashcards block automatically creates a transcript for each flashcard
