NOTE: Before adding a module to a course in Blackboard Ultra using LTI Advantage, the System Administrator and Blackboard administrator must complete the initial LTI Advantage setup. Verify with your Blackboard administrator that  LTI Advantage has been set up before proceeding.


There are two ways to add content to BlackBoard when using LTI Advantage:


Adding content using the Content Selector through the Content Market

Adding content using the content selector will allow you to select and add multiple modules from the same CourseArc course into BlackBoard at once. Be aware that assignments created using the content selector and content market will automatically create a line items in the grade book for the modules selected.


1. Navigate to the Blackboard Ultra course.

  • Select the content area where the CourseArc content should reside.
  • Click the purple (+) icon.
  • Select Content Market
  • Look for the item in the content market that references CourseArc and select that item (names may vary based on the name selected by your System or LMS Administrator).
  • Search for the name of the CourseArc Course where the module(s) you want to add exist.
  • Click the + in the Select column to show the modules of content available in the corresponding course. Select the module or modules you want to add. Click the "Select" button.
  • The selected modules will be added as assignments, and line items will be created for each module selected. Note that the grade item will be put into the general grade book category and not a specific category.
  • Each new item added can be edited to add a due date, change the grade type, specify a grade book category, etc.


1. In CourseArc, navigate to the course module that needs to be embedded. Click on the LTI Embed button.


2. Click the "Copy Link" button.


3. Navigate to the Blackboard Ultra course.

  • Select the content area where the CourseArc content should reside
  • Click the purple (+) icon and select CREATE
  • Select Teaching Tools with LTI Connection
  • Provide a descriptive name for the link (e.g., Module 1 Lesson).
  • Paste the LTI link into the Configuration URL field
    Note: Ultra will automatically remove the https: from the Configuration URL field.
  • Select additional settings as appropriate (visibility, gradebook entry, description, etc.)
  • Click SAVE
