Note: Only a System Administrator has the ability to manage file sets.


CourseArc's File Manager allows you to organize files using file sets. A file set is a set of files linked by a common characteristic, such as a course or topic. 


  1. Select the Manage Sets tab from the File Manager view.

  2. To edit the name of a file set, select the pencil icon, change the name and then select the green checkmark to save the changes.

  3. To delete a Set, select the set and then choose the Delete button.

  4. To add a Set, select the Add Set button and then complete the Set Name and Save.

  5. To view the files in a file set, select the link under the Files column, which will open up a new tabular view of all the files with the set name populated in the filtered area named "In Set(s)". By default this view will show the following details for each file (Note: The table can be modified to include additional file information.):
    • Thumbnail: This displays the image thumbnail. This is a non-modifiable field.
    • Type: This displays the date and time the file was added. This is a non-modifiable field.
    • Title: This displays the file name/title. This field can be modified.
    • Access: This displays whether the file is public or hidden. This field can be modified.
    • Added: This displays the date and time the file was added. This is a non-modifiable field.
    • Size: This displays the file size. This is a non-modifiable field
