Note: The Google Classroom integration must be set up with CourseArc and your Google Workspace Administrator before CourseArc content can be used in a Google Classroom.
- Select the lesson’s name.
- In the top left corner, select the dropdown arrow on the ‘Students’ Progress and Performance’ Dashboard button to drill down into data or grade writing responses.
Note:The features described in this document are only available for courses that have student tracking turned on. Additionally, a course's Tracking and Grading: setting can be set to Participation or Cumulative.- ‘This Module’ will display data for the current lesson/module you are viewing for all students who have accessed the content. (See Step 4 for more information.)
- ‘Entire Course’ will display data for all of the lessons any student has viewed. (See Step 5 for more information.)
- ‘Needs Grading’ will provide a list of page links and the number of ungraded writing activities that need to be graded for the entire course. (See Step 6 for more information.)
- Towards the top right of each page, there is a ‘Select a Student’ dropdown menu in the ‘Make a selection to view student answers.’ area. This will show you responses for the selected student for this page.
If there is a Quiz activity on the page, teachers also have options to view question-level analytics or an answer key in this area.
Steps 4-6 provide more details on the different options teachers can select as mentioned in
Step 2.
- If you selected ‘This Module’ or clicked on the main ‘Students’ Progress & Performance’ button, module level data will be displayed for all students who have accessed this content.
The next set of information will display different information depending on the course’s settings within CourseArc. There are two option that will display data: Cumulative and Participation.
Cumulative Scoring
With Cumulative tracking turned on, teachers can see the current score, a visual indicator for how much the student has completed, and drill down into further details by selecting the More Info button for each student.
Teachers can select the ‘Sync Score’ button if a student has completed the lesson, but did not turn it in by clicking the save score button on the last page of the lesson.
Selecting ‘More Info’ will display each page in the lesson, a timestamp for when the student first accessed the page (or scored the highest), a check or an x to indicate if the page or activity has been completed, the score earned by the student, action items such as Override or Reset, and a note about grading a writing activity.
Participation Scoring
With Participation tracking turned on, teachers can see a visual indicator for how much the student has completed and drill down into further details by selecting the More Info button for each student.
Teachers can select the ‘Sync Score’ button if a student has completed the lesson, but did not turn it in by clicking the save score button on the last page of the lesson.
Selecting ‘More Info’ will display each page in the lesson, a timestamp for when the student first accessed the page (or scored the highest) and a check or an x to indicate if the page or activity has been completed.
- If you select the ‘Entire Course’ option from the Student’s Progress & Performance dropdown button, course level data will be displayed for all students who have accessed at least one lesson in the course (or Google Classroom). This is similar to a grade book view, but only displays CourseArc lessons, not other items in your Google Classroom.
- From here, teachers can see the current score and a visual indicator of lesson completion for each lesson in the course for all students in the class who have accessed at least one CourseArc lesson. This data can also be exported to an Excel file. With Participation tracking turned on, teachers will not see a score displayed in this view.
The download button to the right of the student’s name will provide a data download Excel file of all student interaction in the course, including all page views, activity attempts and scores. With Participation tracking turned on, teachers will not see scores displayed in this view.
- If you select the ‘Needs Grading’ option from the Student’s Progress & Performance dropdown button, a list of all pages that have writing activities with ungraded student responses will be displayed for the course.
Select each page’s name to grade the activities.
Teachers can grade ungraded responses, Turn on Anonymous Grading if desired, add a score and feedback, allow the student to retry the assignment, change the student selector to view different ungraded student responses, view graded responses and view all responses together.
