Student responses are reviewed and graded by instructors on the same course page as the corresponding Writing block.

When logged in to the LMS as an instructor, student responses are presented in a tabbed format that organizes the student responses by grading status: ungraded, graded, and all.

The UNGRADED tab shows individual ungraded student responses. Use the Select a Student dropdown to switch between ungraded student responses. Student responses may also be by navigated using the << and >> buttons on each side of the Select a Student dropdown.

  1. Review the student's answer, enter a value into the Score: field; and if necessary, enter feedback for the student.
  2. If the student is permitted to retry the activity, set Allow student to retry: to Yes.
Note: Setting this option to Yes allows the student to redo the activity and earn a different score.
  3. Select the SUBMIT & NEXT button to save the score, feedback, and retry setting for the selected student response.
  4. The next ungraded student response will appear. Repeat steps 1–3 for each ungraded student response.

The GRADED tab shows individual graded student responses. Use the Select a Student dropdown to switch between graded student responses.
Note: If there are multiple graded responses, the << and >> buttons will display on each side of the Select a Student dropdown.

The ALL tab shows a flat view of all student responses (graded and ungraded).
