To link to a web address or URL, use the Insert/edit link option in the following blocks: 

  • Accordions
  • Citation (Attribution Type: Custom option only)
  • Cloze
  • Content
  • Graphic Organizer

  • Icon and Text
  • Image (Attribution Type: Custom option only)
  • Image Hotspots
  • Instructor Notes

The Slideshow block has a Link URL: field for adding a link to a slide.


The Content block will be used to demonstrate how to link to a web address or URL.


  1. Select the text to link from and click the Insert/edit link icon on the toolbar.

  2. The Insert link form will appear. Enter the web address into the URL field. The Title field text displays when a cursor hovers over the link. Configure the Target field to open in a new window or the same window.
    Note: The Text to display field automatically populates with the text that is selected as the link.

  3. The link will now appear in the Content block. Click the Add+ button to add the block to the page.

  4. The Content block with a link will now appear in the edit page view. Select the Publish My Edits button to save the changes.screenshot of the link in the edit mode
  5. Once the changes are published, the Content block with a link displays as it will appear to learners. Test the link to ensure that it works correctly.
