The Image Matching block lets content creators build matching activities that pair images with corresponding labels. Learners match each image to its correct label, and the activity can be graded to assess accuracy.
- Navigate to the page and select Edit this Page. Find the position you want to add a block and select the plus (+) icon.

- From the dropdown, select Add Block.

- In the Add Block modal, you can either:
- Use the Search field to find a block by keyword
- Select a block from your custom list of Favorites
- Scroll through the list of All Blocks to select one
- Use the various categories in the side panel to filter by block type
- Select the star icon to add or remove blocks in your Favorites list

- Select the Image Matching block. The Add Image Matching form will open. The form has two areas: Image Matching Settings and Manage Images.
- In the Image Matching Settings, review the point value. The point value field will only be displayed if the module is being graded. The default point value is 5. Change it, if needed.

- In Manage Images, click Add Image+ to add a new item. A minimum of two items is required. For each image, complete the following fields:
- Image:* Click the field to select an image from the File Manager.
- Crop: Once an image is added, the Crop field displays a preview. Images are automatically sized down to ensure proper viewing on mobile devices. Use the plus, minus, and move tools to adjust the crop as needed.
- Label:* Enter a description for the image.
- Alt Text:* Describe the content and function of the image using as few words as possible. Alt text may contain up to 500 characters. Alternative text is read by screen readers, allowing the content and function of an image to be accessible to those with visual or certain cognitive disabilities. To learn more about alternative text, visit WebAIM's Alternative Text.

- In the Image Matching Settings, review the point value. The point value field will only be displayed if the module is being graded. The default point value is 5. Change it, if needed.
- Select the Save Image button. Repeat this process until you have all the image matching sets completed. Click the Add Block+ button to add the block to the course page.

- The new Image Matching block will appear on the page in Edit Mode. A red, dotted line appears around the block to indicate that it's editable.
Note: An Alternative Activity is automatically generated to provide learners another option for interacting with this activity.
- Select the Publish My Edits button to save the block to the course page and see the content as it will appear to learners.

- Learners can use the CHECK LATEST MOVE or CHECK AND SUBMIT buttons to verify their answers. Incorrect answers will be highlighted and displayed on the page. Learners can reset the activity and try again to earn the maximum number of points, which are shown in the lower right hand corner of the page.
