Blocks are predefined templates for creating content in CourseArc. Content fields in blocks are configured as needed to provide instructional content for learners. Blocks of content can be arranged in any order on a course page. Using blocks as content templates ensures consistency for content creators, instructors, and learners across pages, modules, and courses.

Each block has been developed to be:

  • instructionally sound
  • well-designed and visually appealing
  • able to support a variety of activities and uses
  • highly interactive
  • engaging
  • fully accessible
  • responsive to all devices

At the bottom of every page in CourseArc, there is an Add To Content option that allows content creators to add blocks to a course page.

The Add Block modal lets content creators select a content block to add to a course page. There are more than 40 blocks that can be used to create content on course pages. For a complete list of available content blocks, refer to What blocks does CourseArc have?.

When a block is selected from the Add Block modal, the content creator must configure any required fields (denoted by a red asterisk *) and complete any additional fields as needed.
