Getting started is often the hardest part. Whether you’re launching a new course or updating existing content, organizing ideas into a clear structure takes time. Magic Import is designed to accelerate that first step.


With Magic Import, you can paste in a storyboard, content outline, lesson plan, syllabus, or pre-existing content and CourseArc’s AI will convert it into CourseArc lessons and pages. For editors who are unsure about how to structure their course content, Magic Import can accommodate unstructured text and lesson plans and generate a suggested outline. You’ll get a framework of modules and pages that reflect the topics and flow of your material, ready to build on and refine.


Magic Import is available to users with the AI Access global role.


  1. Select the course to which you wish to add content.  
  2. In the Manage Course view, select Magic Import.Course manage dropdown menu with the Magic Import option selected. 
  3. The Magic Import form will appear. Paste your content in the Input Content field and select the Submit button. Magic import tool with content pasted into the input field.

  4. In the Preview area, the button will indicate it has started processing the request. Screenshot showing the processing message for the AI generation.

  5. Once the process is completed, the content preview will appear in the corresponding field. Review and select the Confirm and Create button to create the content. If you want to make any changes to what the AI has produced, you can either:
    1. Make changes to the input and submit again or 
    2. Confirm and Create, and then make any changes once everything has been created.

  7. Once your content is ready, you can go into the course and view the newly created modules, pages and, if applicable, content blocks.Screenshot of the Manage Module dashboard showing the AI generated Module and pages.
