Add the Quiz block and configure the Quiz Settings section. For additional details on configuring the Quiz Settings section, refer to How do I create a quiz?.




To create a matching question, complete the following steps.

  1. Select Matching for the Type of Question: field.
  2. Enter the point value for the matching question.
    Note: The Point Value: field will not appear if the course settings are set to No Grading or the Quiz block's Graded?: field is set to No.
  3. Enter directions for the activity in the Directions: field. Assume the learner is new to online learning and be as explicit as possible.
  4. For Answer Sets:, enter each description in the left column and the corresponding matching words in the right column. The matching choices will appear in a random order to students. This question allows up to eight matching pairs. 
  5. Each question includes the option to show a hint to the student. Read more about this option in How do I create a quiz?.
  6. In the Quiz Settings, if Feedback: is set to Yes, each question allows feedback. Feedback is optional—read more about it in How do I create a quiz?.
  7. When all the matching pairs have been entered, select the Save button to save the question.

  8. Select the Add+ button to add the Quiz block to the page.

  9. The new quiz block will now appear on the page in the edit page view. Select the Publish My Edits button to save the block to the page.

  10. Once the changes are published, the matching question displays as it will appear to learners.
