Add the Quiz block and configure the Quiz Settings section. For additional details on configuring the Quiz Settings section, refer to How do I create a quiz?.



To create a true/false question, complete the following steps.

  1. Choose True/False from the Type of Question: dropdown.
  2. Enter the point value in the Point Value: field.
    Note: This option will not appear if the course settings are set to No Grading or the Quiz block setting Grading?: is set to No.
  3. Enter the question text in the Question: field. 
  4. Under Answer Options:, select either True or False.
  5. Each question includes the option to give a hint. The Hint: setting is optional. Read more about it in How do I create a quiz?.
  6. If Feedback: is set to Yes in the Quiz Settings, then each question allows you to provide customized feedback for each answer. Feedback is optional. Read more about it in How do I create a quiz?.
  7. When a question is complete, click the Save Question button. Repeat this process to add additional questions. screenshot of the true false question form 
  8. Once the quiz is set up, select the Add+ button. The new Quiz block will now appear on the page in the edit page view. Select the Publish My Edits button to save the block to the page.

  9. Once the changes are published and edit page view has been exited, the true/false question will display as it will appear to learners.

Tip: Unlike multiple choice questions, good true/false questions are difficult to construct because this format can easily make the correct response too obvious. The key problem with true/false questions is that they only assess learning at the knowledge level. Just like multiple choice questions, true/false questions should be clearly worded and should not include negatives, qualifiers, or absolutes.
