The Equal Width Columns page template enables the creation of side-by-side content in two equal-sized columns. Follow these steps to use the Equal Width Column layout.

  1. From the add page view, choose Equal Width Columns for the Template: dropdown. Click Submit to add the page to the module.

  2. The page will appear as shown below with options to add blocks of content in single columns (e.g., Add to Content 1) and pairs of equal width columns (e.g., Add to Left 1 and Add to Right 1 ).

  3. A Content block has already been added to the page using Add to Content 1. Click Add to Left 1 to add an equal width column block. Refer to Working with Blocks to review how to add a block of content to a page.

  4. The Add Block modal will appear. Only blocks that fit in an equal width column will be displayed.

  5. An Image block has been added using Add to Left 1. Click Add to Right 1 to add a block to the equal width column on the right side of the page.

  6. When all the blocks required have been added to the page, select the Publish My Edits button to save the page.

  7. Once the edit page view has been exited and the changes are published, the page will display as it will appear to learners.

Blocks can be added to any part of an Equal Width Columns template page at any time. In this example, the initial content for the page has been added to Add to Content 5 at the bottom of the page.

When moving blocks in an Equal Widths Column layout, note that the target area for moving a block is above the area label. In this example, the block is moving being from Add to Content 5 to Add to Content 1.
