How do I prevent grades from automatically passing back to the LMS?

For cumulative and participation courses, grade passback to an LMS can be limited to manual synchronization for instructors and students. This option, manual grade passback, can be configured for individual courses in the Tracking and Grading settings.

1. Navigate to the course that requires manual grade passback and select Edit Course.
   
   Note: If a course has a glossary, the Edit Course button will be in the Manage dropdown.
   
   
2. The Edit Course view displays.
   
   
3. In the Tracking and Grading section, select Participation or Cumulative and then select Manually triggered by student or instructor.
   Note: If Cumulative is selected, the Point value per page: field also needs to be configured.
